Guidelines for booking commissioned mural projects from Rahmaan Statik.

Please remember Rahmaan Statik strives to make all projects his best project.

 

1. Projects cost $30.00 to $50.00 per square foot.
2. The square foot cost depends on the project 
3.To determine price multiply the length x the height of the wall .
4. Each project takes 2-4 weeks to complete. 
5. The paint and supply budget are budgeted into the total price
6.  50% payment on all projects must be paid to start the project. (The deposits must be paid to develop, purchase supplies, and start the production of the project. )


 

7. Consulting fees: one 20 min video phone call, and an emailed price quote is free. For the free email quote, the prospective client must send a photo of the wall with an approximate length and height and a basic description of the artistic direction of the project. 
8.To meet in person and evaluate the site with a price quote is an additional $250.00 or gift in equal value from client. 


 

9. $1,000.00 project concept fee (separate from the deposit). This is needed to create custom artwork catered to the client's needs . This process also confirms that everyone is on the same page before and during the project.  

 

A.  includes 1 design and 3 client revisions. This process can take up to 1-2 months. Depending on communication and feedback.  Client must communicate creative direction to start the project development 
 

B.  or includes 3 different designs to choose from.  This process can take 2 weeks. Client must communicate creative direction to start the project development . 

10. Exceeding the 1 design 3 revisions or needing more than 3 designs is an additional $150.00 per revised design.  

 

11. All communications about the project development are to take place via email, video conference call or private social media page/ group. All conversations about the agreed project must be communicated in writing . No phone or verbal agreements.

 

12. Focus group meetings/ community brainstorming meetings are $500.00 per meeting 

 

13. Project revisions on an agreed painted mural are an additional project contract, and budget that must be paid in full to start the new project. (this counts as overtime)

 

14. The client must rent and pay for. in their name all construction equipment. This includes scissor lifts, boom lifts, scaffolds . 

 

15. The client is responsible for creating a standard working environment.  This includes.
a. proper lighting 
b. no trash or any object obstructing the wall or with in 15 feet from the wall. 
c. proper ventilation 
d. level platform for lift equipment. (the client must pay for additional modifications for lifts)
e. access to water.
f. private storage or shipping container rental.  for equipment / supplies
g. 24-hour access to the site, key, confirmed work schedule.  


 

16. The client must communicate in writing with the property owner to get legal clearance to paint the property. 
A. it is the client's responsibility to obtain legal permission to paint a mural on the property. unless the client is the owner of the property. 


 

17. The client must pay the balance as soon as the project is complete. If the client has to wait additional time after the project is complete to pay the balance. this will cost and additional 15% per 30 days to the original budget.  

 

18. The Artist retains the rights to the artwork. For profit reproduction is a separate contract

 

19. The artist is not responsible for the condition of the wall. 
A. This includes sandblasting chipped paint, repairing crumbling brick and concrete.  
B. Clear coating wall start at an additional $1,000.00 - $3000.00
C. the artist is responsible to the color of the paint in the mural not fading with in 4 years 
D. Mural retouching cost start at 50% of the total cost of the original project 


 

20. the client is responsible for screw and nail install . or mounting wood panels to the wall. 

 

21. The client is responsible for obtaining all permits for mural commission and production. 

 

22. Flight, Car, and hotel rental is an additional cost to the project. This can cost from $1200.00 - $3000.00 (for projects outside the city of Chicago)

23. If the client has a preset budget without a location or designated size of the mural. There will be no formal agreement or confirmed design until this is presented by the client. (If we don't have a wall, we don't have a project) 
        

 

24. If you are a potential client that has experience hiring artist for mural projects many of the terms my not apply to you or the potential mural commission, therefore you understand why these terms must be stated. 
 

If you are a potential client that has never commissioned a mural project, please read the stated terms .

24. Charity projects cost $5000.00 - $10.000.00
         a. the client has no creative input. 
         b. it is up to the artist to create art that is in           

 proper context to the project and client.  
         c. the artist has freedom of creativity for the             project 
         d. charity projects size ranges from 5x5ft to 10 x10 ft 
         e. Artist supplies paint for project 
         f. ANY client suggested revisions to the charity project changes the category of the project into a standard commission.

25. Student / community involvement with mural painting.
      A. increase the agreed paint supply by $2,000.00

        B. an additional $10,000.00 to the mural contract.
      C. The client is responsible for student                     recruitment
      D. The maximum number of students to the       project is 15
      E. Students are only involved with the underpainting that        is set up by the artist. 

 

Compromises to the terms 

For all compromises to the agreed terms will result in the original agreed mural to become 
1. Smaller in scale
2. Less color
3. Less visual elements

Mission Statement
The mission of the Aerosol Academy of Art is to teach students the global standard of aerosol and street art, to enable them to pursue creating landmarks, commercial murals, and art in public space. Academy graduates will have the professional skills and vision, the knowledge of other disciplines of human achievement, and the attitudes toward lifelong learning needed to succeed in a constantly evolving global art movement while contributing to their communities.

2. Aerosol basics
-4 sessions 3 hours per session
-complete an 6x6ft mini aerosol mural
-total hours 12
-cost $1,000.00 per session x3
-startup fee: $800.00 spray paint and canvas ,mask, gloves
total $3,800.00


C.
3. Aerosol School 
-18 classes, $18,000.00
-3 hours per $1,000.00 session
-54 hours
supply fee $4,000.00 spray paint and canvas ,mask, gloves, workspace
total semester $22,000.00

D. 
Group workshop
Questions to start the workshop

1.$1000.00 per day/ event. includes 3-hour workshop. and 2-3 hours the day before the event to set up the mural for workshop. 

2. Client must provide Photo of the wall


 

3. Client provides a general creative direction to the mural project.  
A. This does not include multiple mural design revisions. The artist only provides 1 mural design for the project . For additional design concepts it will cost an additional $150.00 fee per revised design.

    A. Client must provide set up for painting

Cancellation policy

 

The prospective has 24 hours to cancel the project once the project budget is agreed and project dates are booked

The client has to pay 70% of the original agreed price to cancel a project.
